The amount of technical errors, stupid ways of describing things, and generalizations made when describing the mechanics of car tuning is maddening. Really? An LSD "moves traction" between the wheels? And Centrifugal superchargers always "come on like a freight train on that 'top end'"? Ugh.

It's a great video, but it's clear that the guy who decides to describe these things is just spouting platitudes. The tuners themselves are not that much better, no one seems to act lucid or like they actually know what they're talking about scientifically but that their mechanical knowledge is "Oh I heard that X is good for X and a friend told me to put an X on X and dial out X".

I don't think that's really the case, but the way its filmed and people are put on camera is all very childish.

And one last thing that bothers me, how come ALL of the tuners have some weird speech problem, either a thick accent or something? It's just so surreal that a company with production quality this high would not be able to put together something that doesn't make all tuners look like

This contest was so odd. It seemed like the idea was to stretch the footage they had by injecting a ton of filler... aka oversimplified ramblings about car tech. And the competitors had radically different cars, even within the same class. Brand new tuned M4 vs. bolt ons BRZ? Hey they're both FR right? Sounds good! Motor trend is so iffy. Good thing there's roadkill.

Having an accent counts as a speech problem now?

Also I doubt most of the Tuners are used to speaking on Camera and given the way that guy they have to explain things talks, I'm guessing they were told to dumb it down since this whole tunning series reeks of dumbing down.

Still it's getting better. Less of shitty tunning shops sending customers broken engines and more looking at the bloody cars.

The entire series feels like an intern did it or something. Like they had this footage laying around and needed to fill the holiday gap with content.

I am not sure what you are bickering about. These videos are made so everyone can understand it including people that know nothing about technical aspects of a car. His description of LSD was correct. I am not sure about being able to provide traction on acceleration or deceleration though. Supercharger description was also correct.

I also don't know what your issue is with speech problem. So, one guy had an accent, so what? In every single Formula 1 interview the drivers have accents because they are from another country yet nobody has a problem with it.

It's a tuner video directed at tuner culture so they find drivers and presenters to suit the demographic.

Yeah, I don't blame the tuners for being hard to understand as much as I do the producers. There's a difference between unscripted and realistic, and poorly scripted and forced.

I think you're entirely right about the footage.

The guys description of an LSD was spot on other than naming. The deceleration is with engine braking, some will never lock for it while others will
